End of summer and 49ers

Logan loved helping me pick raspberries this year and he loved to eat them!

Tuckered out in his pack and play after a long day!

Riding is four wheeler from Grandma and Grandpa. He has figured out how to stear this one so he rides it all over the yard!

More smiles!

Pat and I took a trip down to Kansas City to watch the Chiefs take on his beloved 49ers. NFL games are fun - too bad the 49ers suck! :-)

We had great seats for the game!

Watching warm-ups

On our walk to the stadium - our hotel was right across the street. It started out as a cold day but by game time we had taken off the coats and sweatshirts!

Our Trip to Michigan

We were also excited to visit Tim and Betsy in their new home in Michigan. They have a beautiful new home and we are so excited that they will be welcoming a new baby in March!! We haven't heard yet if it will be a nephew or a niece - either way we are super excited for them! Below are some photos from our visit.

Logan enjoyed the game and all the clapping. He did pretty well and he was able to stay for the first quarter at least!

The Morrison's! This was Tim's first game as offensive line coach for the team and we were excited to be there and watch the win!

Betsy and Tim had neighbors with kids and it was hard to keep Logan away from all the cars and toys!

This is how Logan looked during our travels. He loves Mickey Mouse and we are not sure what we would have done without portable DVD players!

Our trip to Indiana

Here are some pictures of our trip to Indiana to visit my grandparents on their farm. This was Logan's second visit and Luke's first visit. I have lots of great memories of visiting the farm growing up and we plan on visiting at least once a year so that Logan and Luke can have some of those memories too! Logan got a tractor from grandma Gloria and he loved it! He even got a ride on the big tractor from grandpa Dave - below is a picture of him sitting on it by himself.

Playing on the deck and steps to the new shop. Grandma will be opening an antique shop next spring in one of the barns they renovated. I wish I had taken a picture of the inside - its pretty neat!

Logan and dad racing

Aunt Gail and Logan walking. Gail had recently had a knee replacement so Logan was helping her walk. :-)

A third cousin Amelia - isn't she a cutie!

Gail and baby Luke

Logan loved this little chair - he sat in it while watching Mickey!

Summer Fun 2010

As you can probably tell judging from my lack of blog posts that we have been busy...but enjoying every moment! Logan continues to explore and learn as he is quickly becoming a little boy and leaving all baby behind! He makes us laugh constantly. Luke has been a great baby and is growing very quickly as well. He'll be 7 weeks tomorrow and I join every mom in the world in saying "where does the time go!"

Some updates from Logan:
  • He loves EVERYTHING with wheels and/or an engine. Everytime he hears an airplane he points and looks up at the sky and says something that I think is supposed to be "airplane". He also knows the sound of motorcycles very well and does the same thing with them. He'll hear them go by behind the fence in the backyard even though he can't see them.
  • He loves to have songs sung to him, especially ones where he can act out the actions. He jibber jabbers a lot but we are still working on his vocabulary with him. He knows what things are and he "talks" a bunch but we can't always understand much of it.
  • Logan doesn't really ever walk. He is either running, hoping, rolling or dancing from one place to the next.
  • We are still having trouble getting Logan to eat much of anything besides fruit and ravioli. And of course he loves his sweets. When he eats something he likes he says "num, nummy"
  • He has become obsessed with watching Mickey and Little Einsteins. We have many nights now where they TV is off.
  • Tonight was the first night with no pacifer and we are cutting it cold turkey. Hopefully he doesn't even notice!

Some updates from Luke:

  • He loves to swing
  • He is starting to get better at sleeping through the night but not quite there yet. I hope to put him on a more regular schedule soon.
  • His favorite thing to eat is milk
  • He has started to smile just a little. He likes when I talk to him and make silly sounds.
  • He wonders what those animals with four legs are doing trying to lick him all the time.
  • He likes when I hold him and sit by the window so that he can cuddle and look outside at the same time!
  • He likes to be outside. Something about the sound and warm air calms him right away!

Pat and I celebrated our third wedding anniversary yesterday and I feel so lucky and blessed. He is a great husband and father. I love him more everyday and look forward to many more anniversaries!

Enjoy some of the below photos (and a video) from the past couple months. I can never get this blog to load photos correctly so they start with the most recent photos first.

If we can't find Logan on the farm, chances are this is where he is.

We loved having Abby and Ella came to visit recently. Ella was good with Luke and is getting ready for her own brother or sister to join the Hein family in February!

Ella and Logan were a little shy towards each other at first but they were playing well together by the end of their visit.

So cute!

Hugs are nice too!

Logan's has had many haircuts since he was a baby - mostly given to him by mom. This was his second "professional haircut" at Sports Clips. He did great!
