Summertime Fun!!

First of all, sorry that I have been sooo bad about blogging the past few months...I can't believe it has been January since our last update. But now that summertime is here we are very excited about this!! 2011 has been treating us well so far and the boys are growing and learning so fast. Below are some updates regarding each of them and some photos from the past few months. I'll try to get some more photos up in the next few days but we'll see!!

Logan (aka the older "little" one):

  • Logan has such a fun, happy personality and I love watching him learn and take in everything around him.

  • He loves to talk and even though he doesn't make sense half the time, he just keeps talking. Here is a conversation we have often:
    Logan: mommy? mommy? mommy? mommy?"
    Mommy: "Yes, Logan?"
Logan: "Um, Um, Um, Um, Um......"
He likes to get my attention but when he does, he really doesn't have anything he needs or he forgot whatever it was!

  • Some of his favorite words or sayings: Emma, Snoop (sounds like Soup), Mommy, Daddy, Baby (this is what he calls Luke), jump, outside, read (he loves to read before bedtime), Stacie (his daycare provider), Daddy mow? (we hear this one constantly), bike ride, DVD, TV, I steer (he loves to get in mom or dads car and pretend like he is driving).

  • He loves to give hugs and kisses, especially when people are leaving or going bye-bye. He usually follows it up by saying "Miss you"

  • He loves to tattle on his brother already.."Mommy, mommy, baby is....."

  • His favorite TV shows: Bubble Guppies (which he just calls Bubble), Dora, Little Einsteins and Mickey

  • Logan can be a little sensitive and doesn't like to get in trouble. Even when we talk sternly to him he gets tears in his eyes and curls his bottom lip.

  • He is starting to eat a little better but it usually involves a bribe from mom or dad. If Logan eats all of his food he gets a mini-reeces peanut cup! Whoever said bribing your kids is bad was crazy!

  • He loves to sing his A,B,C's and 1,2,3's. He is very good at his letters and loves to point to words and tell us which letters are in the word. He likes to try to count to 10 and sometimes even does it in spanish. Gotta love Dora!

Luke (aka the younger "big" one):

  • I'm amazed at how fast Luke has turned into a little boy. He is crawling all over the house and doesn't like to miss out on any of the action

  • He loves his older brother and follows him all over the house and yard. They are starting to interact and play more together and Luke thinks his brother is soo funny. They play and roll-around just giggling at each other.

  • He loves to go swimming and to play in the pool. He loves to splash and just float around.

  • He is a very good eater and will try just about anything. He is getting better at eating finger foods but still likes us to feed him.

  • Like any almost 1 year old he is very curious about everything and he likes to just crawl around wherever he is trying things out and pulling down anything he can.

  • He loves to clap and babble at mom and dad. Whenever he is saying something over and over, Logan starts to repeat it and then they laugh at each other.

  • He is a little screamer! He likes to scream about everything or to get our attention. Him and Logan have had many screaming matches and again think it is the funniest thing. Mom and dad not so much.

  • Luke likes to pick on Logan. Last night when we were shopping at Sam's Club, they were sitting next to each other in the cart and Luke just kept pulling at Logan's shirt and pulling his hair. Logan would just look at us like "please make this kid stop". We'd tell Luke no but he'd go right back to it!

  • He loves to play in the dog bowls and yes we have caught him with a couple pieces of dog food in his mouth. We learned pretty quickly that we have to put the dog food up but now all he wants to do is play and splash in the dog water bowl!
